Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean is evidently to come officially to HTC Butterfly, the international twin of the HTC Droid DNA in the U.S. The Butterfly, also one of the first FullHD handsets in markets, is get the latest HTC Sense 5.1 UI, bringing up the much touted BlinkFeed home screen that you might have come across the HTC One flagship. The system dump of the possible update has leaked to web by an XDA-developer Zarboz.
Well, it is not actually clear when the HTC Butterfly will get the update officially. It is anyway great to hear that HTC is going to introduce Sense 5.1 and its stunning features to this phone. The latest Sense UI update includes a nice option to go back to the stock home screen that will display the typical icons and widgets on the home screen. Further, the update is to bring quick shortcuts and toggles (in a different way from stock Android) in the notifications, making things far smoother for users.
Unfortunately, HTC drops the One’s advanced imaging technology namely the HTC Zoe from the Butterfly. It will not be available in the build, but it may be added to the final version of the OS. It is hoped that Sense 5.1 with the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean will enhance the performance and power of the device more. Further, it will bring in few petty tweaks and other improvements to the device. The update may officially come sooner to the HTC Butterfly.
This is the one of the first FullHD handsets in the world. It was originally released in Japan in Dec. 2012 as HTC Butterfly J. Later, HTC took the device to the other part of the globe with a fresh name the Droid DNA. In weeks, the Taiwan tech manufacturer expanded the Butterfly as the global version of the handset, sidestepping the rumors that there would be a Deluxe DLX model as its worldwide variant. This impressive HTC phone sports a 5-inch Super LCD3 1080p display that packs 441-ppi.
It came out with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and Sense UI 4+ under the hood. The processor inside the HTC phone is a 1.5GHz Krait Qualcomm APQ8064 Snapdragon unit, Adreno 320 graphical processor and 2GB of RAM. Of course, these innards will give extra power for the device after the software update. The Butterfly has an 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera with both can record video at 1080p. 16GB of internal memory, microSD slot, Beats Audio sound enhancement, 4G LTE and a powerful Li-Po 2020 mAh are other notable features of the gadget.
The rumored Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5.1 is to enhance the entire capability and power of the handset. HTC is yet to confirm the report, which might be true, anyway. It has been one of the nice handsets HTC has recently launched. Though not a huge hit like the HTC One, the Butterfly hasn’t been a bad one. Along with the Butterfly, the same update can also be expected on Butterfly J as well as Droid DNA.
